Jennifer began her career as a Human Resources Director and Manager, holding leadership roles and overseeing the work of hundreds of employees. But she ditched all that, opting instead to hang out her shingle as a consultant, coach, and learning and development consultant and facilitator – and has never looked back.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from Nicholls State University. She was recently awarded the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation by the National Speakers Association, which is the highest earned designation for professional speakers, and which is awarded to less than 10 percent of professional speakers worldwide.
She is certified as a Master Trainer by the Workforce Learning and Performance Center at the University of Southern Mississippi, and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), by the Human Resources Certification Institute. Jennifer serves as an instructor with the University of Southern Mississippi Training and Development Certificate Program.
She is the author of Lead, Follow, or Get Me the Hot Sauce! Cajun Wisdom to Spice Up Your Leadership, and has authored hundreds of articles on leadership that appear regularly in several business publications.
Jennifer and her husband live in the heart of “Bayou Country in South Louisiana. She loves to travel, to sneak away to their “camp” at the beach, and get together with friends over a steaming pot of boiled crawfish.
Susanne Karst is a dynamic leader with 29 years of business experience in very diverse industries. She graduated magna cum laude in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University, is a Certified Dale Carnegie Instructor, owned and operated a Bikram Yoga Studio and is a Scuba Schools International Diving Instructor. Susanne progressed through various positions in engineering and manufacturing management up to and including Plant Manager. She has also been a tour guide, instructor, small business owner and consultant. Susanne has worked with multi-disciplined teams and teammates to leverage the skills and talents of each individual to maximize contributions to the bottom line. She encourages innovative thinking with a participative management style that engages and makes work enjoyable.
Susanne is retired and has her own consulting business working in the chemical industry, the training sector, and underwater. Susanne worked with “Fortune 500” companies such as Occidental Petroleum, General Electric, Monsanto and Shell and also “Mom and Pop” businesses such as Yoga 108, Harry’s Dive Shop and Ledet Management Consulting. Susanne enjoys helping her colleagues and clients make improvements in communications, human relations, salesmanship and leadership. It gives her great joy to watch her clients grow both in the classroom and in life while transforming human potential into measurable results.
Since she is retired, Susanne and her husband, Fred, spend much of their time traveling. Recent excursions have brought them to the Raja Ampat region of Indonesia, the Maldive Islands, the Philippines, Palau, Sicily, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, and she is eager to share her photos with anyone interested in seeing them! On the bucket list is Australia, New Zealand, Israel and more. When home, Susanne spends time with family, reads, sips wine, nibbles on dark chocolate and continues her Bikram yoga practice.
Janea McDonald graduated from The University of South Alabama with a degree in Human Resources Management. During her career, she has held a wide variety of positions in Human Resources as well as leadership roles, including jobs as HR Manager, HR Director, Manager of Employment and Training, and HR Consultant.
She received her master’s degree in Workforce Training and Development from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2008. Janea has completed her coursework and successfully passed her comprehensive exams as partial degree requirements for a PhD in Human Capital Development at Southern Miss. She plans to complete her dissertation in 2015.
Janea has held the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification through the Society of Human Resources Management since December 1999, maintaining the certification through continuing education. She is also a certified Training and Development Professional through the Jack and Patti Phillips Workplace Learning and Performance Institute. Currently, Janea is serving as President for her local ASTD (American Society for Training and Development) group.
Janea is the owner of Edge Consulting, LLC, a human capital consulting firm. She is also a facilitator in the Training and Development Certificate Program offered through the Jack and Patti Phillips Workplace Learning and Performance Institute at The University of Southern Mississippi.
